A combined clustering and multi-criteria approach for portfolio selection
digital

Year:
2019
One of the key role of a portfolio manager is to identify a suitable asset allocation strategy. The portfolio composition task has to take into account the return and the risk of each asset along with several other factors such as investor’s aims, market expectations and risk tolerance...
Partial least square path modelling and maximum entropy
for the study of entrepreneurship education in naples university
digital

Year:
2019
Although successful entrepreneurship education (EE) is possible through the most effective way to manage teachable skills and competencies, there is no universal pedagogical recipe to teach entrepreneurship. This paper attempts to identify the most appropriate teaching methods and addresses the paucity of entrepreneurial outcomes on university experiences in EE. Using a survey of students at a Naples University, it attempts to advance our understanding of an entrepreneurship education program...
Asymptotic Confidence Intervals for Parameters Estimated
through the Ratio of Asymptotically Normal Statistics
digital

Year:
2019
In this paper, four different approaches for the definition of asymptotic confidence intervals for the ratio of two unknown parameters are reviewed and compared via a simulation study. The considered approaches are based on the well known Delta Method and on the distribution of the ratio of correlated normal random variables...

Application of the Zenga distribution to the analysis of household
income in Poland by socio-economic group
digital

Year:
2018
Zenga distribution is a new income distribution model which possesses interesting statistical properties and can be fitted to various empirical wage and income distributions. In the paper an attempt of an application of the model to income distributions in Poland by socio-economic groups is presented. The basis for the calculation was the micro data coming from the HBS sample provided by the Statistics Poland. The results of the calculations confirm that the Zenga distribution is a good income distribution model which can be successfully applied to income inequality analysis and income distribution comparisons...
On the relative performance of tests of uniformity based
on spacings: a simulation study
digital

Year:
2018
In this paper a simulation study is carried out to compare the power of a new test derived from the Gini’s index of dispersion of the spacings with some well-known tests of uniformity against the standard alternatives such as the Beta family, Lehmann type alternatives and Tukey’s family of distributions...
An italian validation of the job crafting scale: a short form
digital

Year:
2018
Research on job crafting is increasing nowadays. Job crafting has been studied in terms of a mediator variable useful to improve positive organizational behaviors, and it has crucial theoretical and practical implications. In order to facilitate its measurement in large surveys, in different settings, we aimed to develop a brief 12-item version, the Job Crafting Scale-Short Form (JCS-SF)...
Template matching for hospital comparison: an application to birth event data in Italy
digital

Year:
2018
Quality evaluation in healthcare has obtained a growing attention in the statistical literature. In order to evaluate hospital performances by comparing hospital outcomes it is necessary to remove the bias due to the different case-mix in each hospital, which is usually done using statistical modeling as a risk adjustment tool...
